Today we lucked out again on weather. Sorry to rub it in but will you just look at the photo above??
This photo was taken on our walk between Bronte and Bondi beaches on Sydney's coastline. This is just the short part of a long coastal walk from Coegee Beach that is popular with everyone, tourists and locals. The only difference is that us tourists are steeped in sweat as we plod our way around slowly in the 30+ heat, whereas the beautiful locals RUN along it as a fun form of exercise... I'm sorry, but no. Who DOES that? Runs in the heat of the day for miles? Amazing views or not, that's excessive.
Anyway, we did it our way which meant getting the bus to Bronte to start the short route, with packed lunch on the beach. Mm mmmm.
We made it to Bondi, the most famous beach in Sydney and arguably in Australia along with Byron Bay, with plenty of time to relax for a bit, read our books and take a dip to cool off. The waves though... So strong! Both of us were struggling to stay on our feet... As if we needed anything else to make us look more touristy being 10 degrees paler and considerably more snap happy... Cringe.
For our last night in Sydney, we went into Surry Hills again to the bottom of Elizabeth Street for Lebanese. It made a nice change dining out in a proper restaurant for a change and the food was sooo worth it. You'll have to excuse the blurry photo... Lets just say the flash was a little brighter than we thought so we weren't in a position to retake... Tourist fail of the day number 2.
